Pretty pink n' purple flowers

You're the first to know. We'll, I told my roommate and you're the second to know...that is if you read this before I tell anyone else.

I ordered the wedding flowers online today. They'll be delivered all the way from Cali. And my favorite flower? It's been the beauty stephanotis ever since we (Stephanotis and I) met when I picked my prom corsage flowers.

It's only 70 something days. Excitement is building:-)

Ooh. And we found (well, Neal found) a place for us to live. Yea!

Ties and invitations

The man has left the country. Neal just landed back in the U S of A after being here in Hungary for two weeks. It was so so so good to have him here and see that he's real.

With the help of some friends, our invitations were assembled, stuffed, and sealed in about two hours. Thanks friends! I never imagined that I'd have more guys helping than girls, but that's how it turned out. I suppose it was the elegance and lure of the tasty cheese and wine that was offered. Or maybe they all really like us:-)

Neal and I went to the mall and found ties for the groomsmen. They are swanky and stylish. Another surprise you'll have to wait to see!

Photographer

We have a photographer!
We have a photographer!
We have a photographer!
We have a photographer!

I'm really excited about it because I think Mike has a great eye for pictures and takes make-you-smile photographs.

Mike agreed to be our capture-of-moments man some time ago, but I have been waiting to announce the news to also post his website that's now ready. Go to River Home Photography and see for yourself that I'm right that he's the bomb.

Mike, I'm so happy you're our man:-)

We have a photographer!

Invitations

So, the invitations are in production.

My Pops printed the invitation some nights ago. I just finished ripping/tearing the backing of the invitations.

There was a slight overlooking about the color of the envelopes and last minute purchasing of them. Hopefully, Dad can get them soon enough to mail to Neal before he gets here in 8 days.

I'm very excited to see Neal. I haven't seen him since our engagement. It is so very hard to be apart, and yet, I know that we're lucky and blessed to have email and phone. We talk almost every day and several times a day at that. I know there are some couples that are separated for much longer and contact each other much less. I hurt for those who are separated. It isn't good to be apart for so long.

Oh! I see my man in 8 days!!!!

Wedding Dress

I tried on wedding dresses for the first time ever this Monday (well, minus the one time I tried on Holly's bridal dress.)

My parents accompanied me. We *ahem* had a good time (Dad, you're a trooper). As I tried on each dress, different thoughts went through my mind. One thought--> it is just a dress. Another thought-->I am going to be a bride! But some dresses had a special feeling to them. Looking at myself in the mirror, I imagined standing there before Neal with my friends and family there.

I've heard that when you try on THE dress, you'll know it. But what happens when the dress you are trying on feels like it could be THE dress, but you also know that the price could be more than you make in a month and definitely outside of budget? Well, I suppose the obvious, enjoy wearing an expensive piece of clothing for a moment, then allow the clerk to put it back on its hanger. Sigh.

This just means that I'll get to extend being a bride in a bunch more dresses until I find the right one. I think I can handle that. I remember fantasizing about my wedding day and about my groom with college friends as they planned their wedding. It's not a fantasy anymore, but it's a wonderful reality that I am fully embracing. I am getting married in 143 days to my handsome groom.

And the coolest thing is, it doesn't really matter what dress I wear. I know that Neal will think I am beautiful no matter what I will be wearing.

Did you know...

...that you can buy invitations with seeds embedded in them? According to this one magazine, the recycled paper cards are meant to be planted.

What will they think of next?

Gifts

Have found the perfect bridesmaid gift...

But I'm not telling!

Also made inquiries about party favors... I suppose I shouldn't really tell what that might be either.

Aren't surprises grand?

Pretty paper

I went across town and bought our paper for the wedding invitations today. So excited to get all of the other parts so that I can start putting them together.

Mom and Dad are coming in about 10 days. Hopefully Mom can find some ribbon to bring over. Dad is going to be doing the printing. These invitations will have ingredients from all over, and will also accrue lots of miles: Dad will take some of the paper to the States to do the printing. Then he'll send them to Neal in Boston. Neal will bring them here to Hungary, and I'll bring them back to the States. Then they get to travel some more and find you! (At least that's my plan for now...)

Website and announcements

Announcement #1:
Neal and I just finished putting together the website as of last night. I merely helped with information, but he's the guru behind making this cool looking site:-)

Announcement #2:
We hit the presses this week and our engagement announcement was in Alton's The Telegraph this morning. This is getting cooler by the day. Only some 160 days before the wedding!!

Announcement #3:
My wonderful cousin and bridesmaid to be, Tanya, called this morning. With the time difference, our schedules make it difficult to talk. Love you girl!

Invitations

I found some beautiful paper yesterday, and today made about 5 different looking invitations. Neal and I decided upon one, so it's official! We have the design of our invitation!

Speaking of invitations, yow! It's so difficult to make the invite list! Neal and I want to invite everyone, but it isn't possible that we'd all fit into the building:-(

Also, yesterday blocked some rooms at Super 8, and made an agreement with Holiday Inn. Both give discounts and little perks. Best to make reservations asap, as the agreement gives a discount, but does not guarantee a room!

I'm just joking...but after you look at it a few times, it actually starts to grow on you...
